Care Leavers experiences of working with services

This podcast is the first in a series of podcasts to outline the discussion and findings of a two-year Health and Care Research Wales research project (working with services across Gwynedd, Conwy, Anglesey and Torfaen) exploring the barriers and enablers to engagement for care leavers. The discussion focuses on what a good worker looks like for young people who are leaving local authority care: what works well, advice for other care leavers and what needs to be developed.
The project is led by Dr Ceryl Teleri Davies (PI), with Dr Louise Prendergast and collaborations with Dr Ned Hartfiel and Professor Rhiannon Tudor Edwards.

 

Eye on Liverpool: Health Economics Research and Practice in Vision Science and Ophthalmology Patient Care

The podcast provides an opportunity to discuss topics in ophthalmology, as provided at St. Paul's Eye Unit and eye research performed at the Department of Eye and Vision Science in the University of Liverpool. With focus on discussion of health economics through the lens of ophthalmology, in this discussion Rhiannon draws on her thirty years of experience in the design, conduct, analysis and dissemination of health economics alongside clinical trials across a wider range of clinical and public health areas both in the UK and internationally.

Rhiannon Tudor Edwards, now a Professor in Health Economics at 黑料不打烊 in Wales and mentor to visually impaired youngsters, managed to overcome the challenges the shocking diagnosis presented her with. Rhiannon recalls the years of losing her sight and reveals how she managed to push through and remain as positive and optimistic as she is.
