Overview
The module will include: 鈥earning styles and evidence based learning, 鈥eflective practice and professional thinking 鈥ntroduction to the profession and standards, competencies and expectations 鈥ntoduction to health and social care policy 鈥ealth & Safety, Basic Life Support, infection control (mandatory training) 鈥cope of practice 鈥rofessional conduct and standards 鈥ntroduction to vulnerability and safeguarding 鈥aintaining the profession鈥檚 reputation and standing 鈥egal and ethical aspects of Physiotherapy 鈥onsent and Informed Consent 鈥atient safety and duty of candour 鈥ecord-keeping and clinical notes 鈥ccountability, autonomy and responsibility 鈥he importance of inter-professional working (MDT) 鈥ervice user and carer involvment in Healthcare and well being 鈥ommunication and clinical effectiveness 鈥linical reasoning 鈥roblem-solving approach to patient management 鈥itness to Practice 鈥ntroduction to keeping a portfolio workbook 鈥ntroduction and preparation for clinical placements 鈥andatory training (see above).
Assessment Strategy
-good -60% Very good understanding of the facts and principles specific to the topics covered in this module. Good understanding of professional standards, competencies and expectations. This equates to a minimum mark of Grade B- in the Grading Criteria. -excellent -70%> Excellent understanding of the facts and principles specific to the topics covered in this module and evidence of additional evidence gained by the student. Very good understanding of professional standards, competencies and expectations. This equates to a minimum mark of Grade A- in the Grading Criteria -another level-50% Basic understanding of the facts and principles specific to the topics covered in this module. Basic understanding of professional standards, competencies and expectations. Students will be required to achieve a minimum of C- grade in the assignment to in order to pass the theory component of the module.
