The event will take place on Wednesday, 11 March at 6pm at The Eric Sunderland Lecture Theatre at the Main Arts Building. The title of the panel discussion is resilience and collaboration.
The panel includes two honorary degree recipients of the University, as well as a Professor of Conservation Science at the University.
The speakers are:
- Hanan Issa, a Welsh-Iraqi poet, filmmaker, scriptwriter and artist who currently holds the title of National Poet of Wales.
- Salamatu Jidda Fada, an educator and conservation and climate action professional dedicated to advancing the rights and wellbeing of women and girls.
- Elin Haf Davies, founder of the digital health company Aparito, established to digitise clinical trials for life-limiting diseases, and known for rowing and sailing across the world鈥檚 oceans.
- Julia Jones MBE, Professor of Conservation Science whose research focuses on improving the effectiveness of nature conservation policy and practice.

From North Wales to Northern Nigeria, I am inspired by the resilience, courage, and achievements of women who continue to push boundaries while reminding us of the work that still needs to be done. I鈥檓 grateful for the opportunity to join this conversation and to celebrate the power of women鈥檚 voices, leadership, and shared experiences.鈥
The conversation will be moderated by Enlli Thomas, Pro Vice-Chancellor: 鈥淭his year鈥檚 theme is resilience and collaboration. We are delighted to bring together four extraordinary women whose work spans different disciplines and geographies, and whose experiences remind us of the power of perseverance, creativity and partnership to drive meaningful change.鈥
