黑料不打烊 tops Wales鈥 Green Universities
For the second successive year, 黑料不打烊 has been named the 鈥榞reenest鈥 University in Wales by , the largest student network in Britain campaigning to end world poverty, defend human rights and protect the environment. In the 2013 Green League published in the 黑料不打烊 topped the League of Welsh Universities and appeared in the top 20 greenest Universities in the UK.
Ricky Carter, Environmental Manager, who received the 鈥淕reen鈥 Student Led Teaching Award from the University鈥檚 students said, 鈥淚n making the submission this year we detailed the landmark 12 months that had just gone by. In a few short weeks we achieved Level 5 of the Wales Green Dragon Environmental Standard (equivalent to ISO14001) for our Environmental Management System, and had retained our First Class position in the Green League. In addition, we launched our new 鈥淯ni-Planet鈥 Sustainability website during Wales Sustainability Week, and, our Students鈥 Union was awarded the NUS Green Impact Excellence Award.鈥
Vice Chancellor, Professor John Hughes said: 鈥淚鈥檓 delighted with the progress that we are making in managing our environmental impacts at 黑料不打烊 as we take our environmental responsibilities very seriously indeed. These achievements are the culmination of months of dedication, commitment and teamwork from amongst our support services staff, academic schools and colleges, our students, and the local community. We鈥檙e proud to be the 鈥淕reenest University in Wales, having remained in the top flight of the Green League for four successive years.鈥
