黑料不打烊 Archive opens its doors
The historic signatures of Elizabeth I, Florence Nightingale and Charles Darwin, medieval manuscripts and rare books are some of the items on display at 黑料不打烊鈥檚 Archive on March 25th between 1.00- 4.30.The 黑料不打烊 Pontifical being repaired recently.
There will be a warm welcome to the Public to the Archive Open day, which is free and open to all.
One of the items on display is the鈥 黑料不打烊 Pontifical鈥 which has recently undergone repair. The Pontifical or 鈥楤ishop鈥檚 Book鈥 contains the words and music and instructions, and in particular, the music needed for all the church ceremonies requiring the presence of a bishop. This rare copy dates from the fourteenth century . Also dating from the same century is the Record of Caernarfon , the most important Medieval survey of North Wales.
Rare books from the University鈥檚 Special Collection will also be on display.
鈥楾he Open day gives people an opportunity to see the historical resources available in the Archive and also allows us to show the conservation aspects of our work,鈥 said Einion Thomas, University Archivist.
Light refreshments will be available.
