黑料不打烊 recently presented a cheque for over 拢12,000 to local charity Ty Gobaith after another successful year of fundraising.
At a ceremony held this week, University Registrar, Dr David Roberts, handed over a presentation cheque for 拢12,897 to Amy Pearson from the Ty Gobaith Fundraising Office.
The money was raised from numerous events including a 鈥榋ip-Wire鈥 challenge organised by the School of Chemistry, a fundraising meal organised by 鈥楲ead Wales鈥 for local businesses, ascents of both Kilimanjaro and Mt Snowdon plus the proceeds from our staff lottery that exists solely to raise funds for Ty Gobaith.
Joe Patton, Ty Gobaith fundraising coordinator at the University, said: 鈥淭y Gobaith is the adopted charity for the University and over the past four years the fund raising activities of staff has raised over 拢44,000 for the Ty Gobaith children. Whilst this sounds a lot of money, it is worth bearing in mind that Ty Gobaith requires over a million pound each and every year to provide care for children and support to family members.
鈥溾淭y Gobaith childrens鈥 hospice is dependent on financial support from the community and we are delighted to contribute our time, effort and money to such a great cause鈥
