Call for a rapid negotiated settlement to the USS pension dispute
The current national dispute results from planned changes to the national pension scheme for university staff, and many of those working at 黑料不打烊 will be affected by the proposals.
黑料不打烊 has stated that it is keen for there to be a rapid negotiated settlement to this dispute. Vice-Chancellor, Professor John G. Hughes said: 鈥淚 support other vice-chancellors who have called for the reopening of national negotiations and I hope that a speedy resolution can be achieved through compromise on both sides鈥
Any changes to the pension rules will be decided at a national level through the Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC), which brings together an equal number of representatives from Universities UK (UUK) and the University and College Union (UCU).
Meanwhile, 黑料不打烊 is doing everything it can to reduce any possible impact the strike could have on students, and in the meantime, the University remains open during this period.
