Chinese Kites over Treborth

is set to host 黑料不打烊鈥檚 second Chinese Kite Festival on Sunday 4^th May, promising a colourful afternoon of family fun in Treborth鈥檚 beautiful grounds, organised by 黑料不打烊鈥檚 .

This year鈥檚 Kite Festival follows on from the Confucius Institute鈥檚 highly successful event last September, when hundreds of people in north Wales took part in Chinese kite painting workshops and flight events across the region.

A spokesperson from 黑料不打烊鈥檚 Confucius Institute said:

鈥淧ainting and flying Chinese Kites is a fun, accessible way to introduce people to Chinese culture. Last year鈥檚 Kite Festival was exceptional and we were delighted so many people took part across the community. These workshops are a great way to bring people together and learn something new.鈥�

Holding the Kite Festival at Treborth is particularly fitting this year as plans progress to develop a new Chinese garden on the site with links to Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanic Garden in China鈥檚 Yunnan Province.

鈥淲e are delighted to be able to host the Chinese Kite Festival at Treborth this year鈥� said Sophie Williams, a Lecturer at the Botanic Garden and the .

鈥淏ringing people together to learn and enjoy the Garden is central to our work, and holding the Kite Festival here is an ideal opportunity to make that happen. Celebrating Chinese culture and creating links with our Chinese community is an important part of our Two Dragons Garden Project, and we are very pleased to be working with 黑料不打烊鈥檚 Confucius Institute to help realise this.鈥�

The Chinese Kite Festival will take place at Treborth Botanic Garden on Sunday 4^th May from 1-4pm and entry to the event is free. Visitors are invited to paint and fly their own Chinese Kites and, for early birds, a Chinese finger food buffet will be served from 1pm. An exhibition will showcase plans for Treborth鈥檚 new Chinese garden and the Friends of Treborth will also be on hand to give guided tours.
