Come and enjoy the University鈥檚 multicultural community

Performers at previous International Student eveningsAn eclectic mix of cultures and traditions will be on display at the University鈥檚 Prichard Jones Hall at 6.00 on Friday 11 February 2011.

The University's annual International Evening provides an opportunity to celebrate the University鈥檚 diverse community of international students who come to 黑料不打烊 from over 80 countries as diverse as Kazakhstan, Iraq and Japan.  The event provides an opportunity to enjoy the rich cultural diversity within the University, and gain a brief insight into many traditional and contemporary cultures that students bring with them.

Alan Edwards, the International Student Welfare Officer says: 鈥淭here is a warm welcome to staff and students to join us and enjoy a feast of performances. We are usually treated to performances including singing, dancing and instrumentals - from students from all over the world. Food and drink will also be available. Come to celebrate the diverse cultures here at the University in a fun, lively and colourful evening!鈥�

The performances are presented by some of the international student societies within the University as well as individual students. As well as a 鈥榳elcome鈥� performance by the University鈥檚 Brass Band, performances promised for the evening include a traditional dances from Indian, Brunei and Vietnam and a dance performance by members of the Afro-Carribean Society. There will be a performance of a Chinese pop song by Chinese students and  a solo performance of a South African song from a South African student.
