Entrepreneurial students put鈥�黑料不打烊鈥疷niversity in a top spot鈥�

More 黑料不打烊鈥疷niversity鈥痵tudents began their own businesses than at any other university in鈥疻ales鈥痑ccording to鈥痑 .鈥�舛寞舛寞&苍产蝉辫;

The鈥痵tudy of 404,182 students鈥痑t eight鈥疻elsh universities鈥痑nalysed鈥痶he number of graduates who started their own business, moved into senior positions to run established businesses, or became freelancers. It鈥痑lso鈥痯laced鈥�黑料不打烊鈥疷niversity second鈥痟ighest鈥痠n Wales for all these categories,鈥痺ith鈥痡ust鈥痷nder one in ten (9.13%)鈥痝raduates choosing to put their entrepreneurial skills to the test.鈥� 

黑料不打烊鈥痟as always prided itself in the quality of鈥痠ts teaching and student experience.鈥� 

This latest result is yet another facet of the excellent student experience, knowledge and skills development available at the University.鈥� 

Prof Iwan鈥疍avies, the University鈥檚 Vice-Chancellor commented:

鈥淓ntrepreneurship is a vital element of the Welsh economy, when you consider that 95% of the Welsh economy is made up of micro鈥痚nterprises of鈥痭ine or fewer individuals.鈥疭o鈥痙eveloping鈥痑 stream of鈥痜uture entrepreneurs who can bring new skills and services to the markets is essential鈥痜or our economy.鈥疶hat is why we place such emphasis on鈥痚ncouraging鈥痑nd supporting鈥痑n鈥痚ntrepreneurial spirit among our students.鈥�鈥� 
 
We provide support and advice,鈥痑nd opportunities to test the market through鈥痗ompetitions, marketplaces and鈥痬odules within our teaching,鈥痵o that our students have the skills to both鈥痳ecognize鈥痑nd develop their entrepreneurial skills and take those all-important first steps into business.鈥濃�� 

Recent news that the鈥疷niversity became the first in Wales鈥痶o partner with IPSE (the鈥疉ssociation of Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed) to support students who are either freelance or considering going into self-employment鈥痠s also good news for鈥痶he students鈥痠dentified in the study who are budding鈥痜reelancers.鈥�
