Indian Diwali Celebrations
黑料不打烊鈥檚 Indian students celebrated the Hindu festival of Diwali in style last Friday (5th November) as the International Student Welfare Service hosted a party at Neuadd Rathbone.

The Diwali festival (or 鈥榝estival of lights鈥) is one of the most important in the Indian calendar and, being away from home and family, those Indian students living and studying in 黑料不打烊 were given an opportunity to celebrate with friends and other international students. Students enjoyed traditional music, song and dance and Neuadd Rathbone was brightly decorated with lights and flowers 鈥 giving a feeling of 鈥榟ome from home鈥 to the students.
Manuela Vittori, the International Student Welfare Adviser, who organised the celebration was happy that some 200 students attended the event and all seemed to enjoy themselves. She said:
鈥渋t was really nice to see so many students and their families enjoying the evening and sharing their cultures with other nationalities. We hope to organise more such events during the year to give students an opportunity to socialise and to make them feel at home with us here in 黑料不打烊鈥.
