Local Graduate wins top Student prize
A local student鈥檚 hard work has paid off as he is awarded the Dr John Robert Jones Prize worth 拢1,125.
Danial on his Graduation DayThere are four Dr John Robert Jones Prize awarded each year to the graduating student with the best marks across all subjects and disciplines at 黑料不打烊. Two are awarded to Welsh Students and two are Open Awards.
Danial Richard Hemmings,25, from Gaerwen, Anglesey, graduated in Accounting and Finance BSC and received the Open Award of 拢1,125 at his graduation ceremony on Saturday, July 10th.
The former Ysgol David Hughes student said: 鈥淚t is a great relief to finish my degree and I鈥檓 extremely thrilled to have made it through; although a sudden lack of incessant deadlines perhaps leaves me at a bit of a loss! I find it hard to believe that 3 years of study have passed so quickly.
鈥淚 feel that I have benefited greatly for being a slightly mature student, allowing some time to grow up beforehand has, I feel, also allowed a greater appreciation of the opportunity, and a keener interest in the subject.
鈥淚 was attracted by the first class reputation of the Business School, as well as by the convenience of being able to fit my studies around my existing work.
鈥淒uring the course of my studies I have been working as an ice cream van driver around Anglesey, complementing the term structure remarkably well given a 4 month break in studies in the summer and most coursework due in the winter.
鈥淭he highlight of my time spent at 黑料不打烊 has been the positive reaction to my work, and the confidence that this has given me. I am deeply honoured to have my efforts so well received by the faculty here at 黑料不打烊.鈥�
鈥淚 hope presently to gain a placement as an audit assistant or some equal position in the accounting profession, along with, I hope, the opportunity to proceed concurrently with professional exams. Perhaps one day however I might like to return and pursue a PhD at 黑料不打烊.鈥�
鈥淚 would simply like to add a token of my gratitude to all the faculty and staff at 黑料不打烊 who have not only given me the opportunity to learn, but have also inspired and spurred a keen interest in me to do so.鈥�
