Olympic Flame Blazes a Trail To 黑料不打烊
Local people will have the opportunity to be photographed with the Olympic Torch as part of 黑料不打烊鈥檚 preparations to welcome the Olympic Flame next spring.
This follows 黑料不打烊鈥檚 Students鈥 Union鈥檚 success in being selected as one of only 20 universities in the UK to host the Coca- Cola Olympic Torch Tour.
As a result, Coca Cola, a presenting partner of the London 2012 Olympics, in conjunction with 黑料不打烊 Students鈥 Union are inviting students and members of the community to visit the Coca- Cola Olympic Torch Tour Bus, which will be on the Ffriddoedd Residential Site, Ffriddoedd Road, between 11am and 5 pm on Thursday 20 October. Shuttle buses running from the University鈥檚 car park in Dean Street will carry visitors to the bus. More details will be publicised and be available from the Student Union on 01248 388000 in the coming weeks.
Danielle Gilles, the Students Union鈥檚 Vice President of Sports and Healthy Living commented 鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to welcome the Coca-Cola Olympic Torch Tour to the University in recognition of the positive contribution made by young people in the region. This marks an initial step in an exciting series of events that we鈥檙e providing for young people in the community in the months leading up to the Olympic Torch visit to 黑料不打烊 next spring. We will be organizing a number of sporting events including taster sessions in a variety of sports for local school children. We are delighted that the people of 黑料不打烊 can celebrate and embrace the Olympic ideals鈥
Jo Caulfield the Union鈥檚 President said 鈥淭he arrival of the Olympic torch at 黑料不打烊 is a truly historic occasion for us. It is a privilege for our community to be part of this torch journey which serves to promote world interest and passion in all areas of sport and physical endeavour鈥.
