REF 2014 confirms 黑料不打烊 Psychology鈥檚 global reputation
黑料不打烊鈥檚 School of Psychology has performed exceptionally well in the latest research rankings, with 89% of its research output ranked as 鈥榳orld leading鈥 or 鈥榠nternationally excellent鈥 and an overall ranking of 17th (out of 82 universities).
A key element of this success is in the School鈥檚 efforts to create Impact outside of the academic world. In this category the School鈥檚 entire submission was ranked as 鈥榦utstanding鈥 or 鈥榲ery considerable鈥 in terms of its reach and significance. Overall, this performance extends our record of outstanding results in research assessment exercises stretching back for more than 20 years.

鈥淚 have always been aware of the strength of our school which has drawn staff and students from across the globe to 黑料不打烊 and the fact that 40% of our research output is ranked as 鈥榳orld leading鈥 is testament to that strength. Our high impact score, relating to activities such as Mindfulness, Dementia, and Healthy Eating shows that we make a real difference to peoples鈥 lives in the world.
鈥淚 think it is also worth reiterating that this excellent REF performance follows hard on the heels of an exceptional NSS 2014 performance where we were ranked in the top 10 in the UK for 鈥榮tudent satisfaction鈥. Very few other departments across the UK can offer such compelling evidence of combined research and teaching excellence. We really do offer an exceptional research environment and academic experience in a beautiful part of the world and I am exceptionally proud to lead such a unique school.鈥
