Sixth Form Conference in Geography attracts schools and pupils from across North Wales.
On Saturday (27th September), Geography@ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ hosted their first 6th form conference for A/S and A2 Geography students at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ.
The event was free to attend for pupils and teachers from schools and colleges, with around 40 pupils and 10 teachers coming from both English-medium and Welsh-medium schools across North Wales.
The day was split into a series of short talks, delivered by lecturers from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, Aberystwyth and Chester universities that covered key topics in the WJEC syllabus for A-level Geography. Pupils also got a flavour of university teaching and some great exam tips from two former A-level examiners.
Pupils who attended commented that the talks were ‘very helpful’, ‘covered everything in the A/S course’, and that the ‘lectures were very good’. We will be running this event next year, so if you or your school/college want to be involved next time, contact Dr Lynda Yorke (conference organiser).
