Project partners gathered today to formally mark the start of construction on the new Egni development, which will expand the park's capacity to support businesses, researchers and innovators working across low carbon energy and advanced technologies.
The new building, being delivered by Wynne Construction, is expected to be completed by summer 2027. It will provide high-quality office, laboratory and workshop space, alongside dedicated facilities for collaboration, skills development and community engagement.
The development will also include an innovation hall and a dedicated materials analysis centre, significantly expanding M-SParc's ability to support companies operating in the low carbon energy sector.
A key element of the development is the expansion of 黑料不打烊's low carbon research capability, including the work of the Nuclear Futures Institute (NFI), helping create new opportunities for collaboration between academia and industry.
The project is being backed by 拢3.94m from the North Wales Growth Deal, jointly funded by UK Government and Welsh Government, alongside a further 拢2.5m from Welsh Government, 拢3m from Anglesey Freeport and 拢580,000 from 黑料不打烊.
The North Wales Growth Deal is delivered by Ambition North Wales, it is a 拢1 billion investment to the region, 拢240m of which is funded by both Welsh and UK Government.

M-SParc has already established itself as a hub for innovation in low carbon energy and emerging technologies. The Egni development builds on the park鈥檚 established innovation ecosystem and strong research links, creating an integrated environment where academic expertise and industry partners can work side by side to accelerate real world applications and attract further investment.

M-SParc sits within Anglesey Freeport's Central Anglesey Tax Site, making Egni the first capital project to be delivered through the Anglesey Freeport programme.
