I graduated in 2021 with an MSc in Principles of Clinical Neuropsychology and am now doing a PhD with the North Wales Medical School (in Medical Science).
Why did you choose 黑料不打烊?
I first chose 黑料不打烊 for my MSc in Principles of Clinical Neuropsychology because of its excellent reputation in Psychology and its recognition as one of the top places to study in the UK. The beautiful location and the welcoming, student-friendly atmosphere also played a big part in my decision. After a great experience during my master鈥檚, I decided to stay at 黑料不打烊 for my PhD which I鈥檓 now doing at the North Wales Medical School. I applied for and was awarded the Vice Chancellor's Postgraduate Research Scholarship and I鈥檓 currently working under the supervision of Dr Martyn Bracewell on a research project exploring the cognitive and perceptual challenges faced by people living with Parkinson鈥檚 disease.
Teaching Quality
The academics who delivered my course are world leading in their subject areas meaning I gained highly relevant skills, enabling my future career direction.
Social Life
Unfortunately, my MSc year in 黑料不打烊 coincided with the heaviest Covid-19 pandemic restrictions in Wales which made socialising more difficult, however, I formed good friendships with my flatmates at St Mary's and was able to enjoy the amazing countryside of North Wales with friends I made at the University. What I really enjoy about social life in 黑料不打烊 is how natural and easy it feels. Because it鈥檚 a small city and the university community is so friendly, it doesn鈥檛 take long to feel like you belong. There鈥檚 always something to do鈥攚hether it鈥檚 catching up with friends over coffee, joining a society, or heading out for a walk by the sea. It鈥檚 the kind of place where you can focus on your studies but still have a life outside of them, which really helps me feel balanced and connected.
The Location
黑料不打烊 has everything. It's on the doorstep of Snowdonia, there are sandy beaches a bus ride away. There is a rich culture with historical treasures. My favourite locations include Penmon and South Stack lighthouses on Anglesey as well as Newborough beach and the Menai Bridge.
Best thing about 黑料不打烊?
The course and the weather. If you come from a hot country like me, being able to stare at the clouds and watch them grow darker before they empty themselves on you is a great experience. The sun still comes out occasionally, showing off the beauty of this natural landscape.
