About the Conference
The 2026 Institute of European Finance hybrid conference explores contemporary financial research in a period defined not simply by change, but by heightened uncertainty, geopolitical tension, and systemic risk.
Hosted by the Institute of European Finance at 黑料不打烊, the conference brings together contributions across the Institute of European Finance鈥檚 four core research areas, the event focuses on how financial systems and institutions are evolving in response to these pressures.
Since its foundation in 1973, the IEF has a mission of leading cutting-edge research that has a real impact on the banking and finance industries. That mission remains central. However, the context has shifted. Financial institutions, regulators, and firms now operate in an environment shaped by geopolitical fragmentation, economic volatility, and increasingly complex risk landscapes. This conference provides a platform for advancing understanding of how financial systems respond to these challenges.
Keynote Speakers
This conference invites contributions relating to contemporary financial research in a transforming world. Topics considered should relate to the themes of the four research groups within the IEF:
- Accounting and Governance: Accounting and governance in times of crisis, risk, and global uncertainty
- Credit Risk: Geopolitical developments shaping credit risk and finance
- Data Analytics and Financial Innovation: Analytics in a changing world
- Responsible Banking: Financial markets and intermediaries under policy uncertainty
We anticipate that contributions to this conference will advance the understanding of the complex interactions between finance and social, technological, political, and environmental transformation.
Submissions are invited that represent a variety of perspectives and methods, encompassing econometric and theoretical research.

- Each participant may present at most one paper.
- There will be discussants for the chosen papers during the event.
