CELT CPD Workshop: Writing effective Learning Outcomes

            Speaker: Professor Graham Bird

Overview: Learning outcomes (at both module- and programme-level) define what your students should be able to demonstrate (be able to do) as a result of completing and passing a module or programme. As a result, they are statements that fundamentally shape your teaching and assessment activities at module and programme level. They are also statements that ensure the outcomes for your students are aligned to sector-wide and subject-specific requirements. Effective learning outcomes are also clear to students and clearly communicate to students what they need to do to achieve them. This session will include some ‘theory’ but focus particularly on how to develop and write effective learning outcomes, including pragmatic tips and how to avoid common mistakes.
Session Language: English
