A lecturer from 黑料不打烊 Law School has been selected to carry the Olympic Flame after being nominated for the honour by her students.
Law lecturer Sarah Nason was nominated in the 鈥業nspiring Others through Education鈥 category and will carry the Flame when it travels through Conwy 鈥 15 miles from 黑料不打烊 鈥 on Tuesday, 29th May 2012.Law lecturer Sarah Nason will carry the Olympic Flame through Conwy on May 29th
Sarah joined 黑料不打烊 Law School in 2006, having briefly served with the Royal Navy and later attaining a first class honours degree in Law from the University of Cambridge. A keen sportswoman, she was an accomplished marathon runner before turning her sights on triathlons. She was the youngest entrant in the 2008 Welsh Ultra Triathlon and, at the time, only the second woman to complete the course. She has also completed the gruelling Ironman UK Triathlon and was the first person from Wales to ever compete in the Ultraman Canada Championships, regarded as the world鈥檚 toughest triathlon.
In spite of her athletic prowess, Sarah鈥檚 nomination was in recognition of her teaching, with students putting her forward for being 鈥渁n inspirational academic and teacher鈥 and 鈥渁n exceptional role model.鈥
鈥淭o be nominated to take part in the Olympic Torch relay is a great honour in itself, but it means all the more coming from the students鈥, said Sarah. 鈥淚鈥檓 really pleased to be nominated for my teaching rather than my sport. It is most rewarding to find that the students take as much from their experience at 黑料不打烊 Law School as we staff do. I鈥檝e witnessed the School go from strength to strength during my time here and I look forward to seeing what鈥檚 to come next. In the meantime, I will be proudly flying the flag 鈥 or flame 鈥 for 黑料不打烊!鈥
