Psychologists contribute to enjoyment of new Art Exhibition
黑料不打烊鈥檚 renowned School of Psychology has worked with MOSTYN contemporary art gallery in Vaughan Street, Llandudno for their new exhibition to be launched soon. Entitled 鈥榊OU鈥 the Exhibition is all about the viewer.
Bringing together works by five internationally renowned artists - Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Aur茅lien Froment, Jeppe Hein, J煤lius Koller, Rivane Neuenschwander, the exhibition will engage visitors in ways not normally experienced in the conventional gallery setting.
Each piece of work invites the gallery visitor to interact in such a way as to complete the work of art, and the exhibition is part of the gallery鈥檚 aim to challenge convention in the relationship between gallery and audience. The works in the exhibition will be constantly
changed and reworked by the actions of the visitor. Play, creativity, problem solving and new perspectives create an exhibition that will challenge and intrigue all ages.
That鈥檚 where the University鈥檚 School of Psychology have got involved: In addition to the artworks on view the School has a display of cultural artifacts, documents and other items showing the connection between physical objects and our cognition.
Professor Guillaume Thierry of 黑料不打烊 said
鈥淭he exhibition at MOSTYN breaks new ground. People often conceive the experience of art as passive but this is incorrect, for our brain interprets the world, all the time. Our mind constructs reality and the experience of beauty. The exhibition YOU makes this link tangible.鈥
All are welcome to attend the Exhibition Opening Evening on Friday 26th April at 6.30pm in the Mostyn Art Gallery, Llandudno.
