Welsh Professor reaches Wales Book of the Year shortlist
A volume of poetry written by a 黑料不打烊 Welsh Professor has been shortlisted for a 2018 Wales Book of the Year award in the Welsh-language Poetry category.
Peredur Lynch, Professor in Welsh at the School of Welsh, completed his first poetry volume, , whilst on a sabbatical at Harvard University鈥檚 Department of Celtic Languages and Literatures.
The volume is published by Gwasg Carreg Gwalch and it has received enthusiastic reviews in literary periodicals such as Barddas (鈥渁 truly splendid volume鈥 鈥 Alan Llwyd), Barn (鈥渆xceptional poetry鈥 鈥 Derec Llwyd Morgan), and O鈥檙 Pedwar Gwynt (鈥渢he rich enchantment of old wine鈥 鈥 Gruffydd Aled Williams).
by Dr Goronwy Wynne, an Honorary Fellow of 黑料不打烊 and received his PhD from the School of Welsh, has been shortlisted in the Welsh-language Creative Non-Fiction Award category. Also shortlisted in the same category is School of Welsh graduate Anne Elizabeth Williams鈥 , both published by Y Lolfa.
Also shortlisted is 黑料不打烊 Honorary Fellow and former Wales National Poet, Dr Gwyneth Lewis; her book is shortlisted in the Welsh-language Poetry Award category.
Administered by Literature Wales, the Wales Book of the Year Awards are presented annually to the best Welsh and English-language works in the fields of creative writing and literary criticism in three categories: Poetry, Fiction and Creative Non-Fiction.
The winners of the Wales Book of the Year Awards 2018 will be announced on 26 June 2018.
