Young designers get opportunity to exhibit their work
Carys Matthews of Ysgol y Creuddyn makes last minute adjustments to her work at the ExhibitionIn a new initiative, 黑料不打烊 has offered local Schools the opportunity to showcase work by their best designers in a dedicated Design and Technology exhibition.
Nine schools across north Wales have taken up the opportunity to showcase examples of work from among young designers studying Design and Technology, which includes Product Design as well as Textiles at Key Stage 3, GCSE, AS and A level at a two day exhibition at 黑料不打烊鈥檚 prestigious Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre.
Peredur Williams, Design and Technology lecturer at the School of Education, explains how the event came about:
鈥淭he Exhibition arose from our regular meetings with Design & Technology teachers in the area. They were keen to showcase some of the excellent Design and Technology work produced by their pupils, Everything we interact with and use in our day to day lives have been designed by someone somewhere. Design and Technology as a subject is absolutely key within all schools鈥� curriculum to ensure that pupils develop in a creative and practical way. We, as the School of Education and 黑料不打烊 are proud to be able to assist with the promotion of the subject and showcase the great work 
William Passey of Ysgol Eirias designed this angle-poise lampwhich happens within our local schools.
Participating in the Show was Carys Matthews, 17 of Ysgol y Creuddyn. A level student Carys is off to study graphics in Cardiff later this year and said:
鈥淚t鈥檚 great to see my work as part of a Show, it changes the way you see your work when it鈥檚 displayed in a space like this.鈥�
The Exhibition at Pontio鈥檚 White Box between 2.30-7.00 today, Friday 16 June.
